Your business idea might need a few or just one of the following protections. What you have to do is do some research on protection of your idea on the government website.

Protecting your idea needs money. What you should do is research if your idea is sellable. If it is sellable go for it because you will be making a profit out of it. If you do not know, you should not waste your money on copyright and other expenses. Doing all those protection and using huge expenses on a failing business idea is not worth it.

The idea you thought of does not mean that you be successful, the idea might be useless. So, what you should do is to ask friends if they want to buy or use your product. Do products review and do some research to see how others would react.

If you do find that there is a same idea or part of it, try to adjust it a bit so it won't be the same. If you can't change it, I guess you have to figure out another idea.
